Participation Groups are a means for patients and GP Practices to work together and develop positive and constructive relationships. It provides patients and GP staff the opportunity to exchange ideas and information and to look for small changes that can make a big difference. It is not the place to bring personal problems or complaints as these should follow the usual complaints pathway.
The PPG is an important conduit for the surgery and the NHS as a whole. The practice can link into our patients, discuss ideas and any changes and implement them by working together. Likewise what is happening on the ground and suggestions from individuals can be fed back into larger patient groups such as the Folkestone Hythe and Rural PCN Patient Participation Group and the Shepway Patients Participation Group that in turn report to the Kent and Medway ICB Patient groups – which means patients can influence the services commissioned locally in their area. Every one of us can be part of this as we are all patients registered somewhere, but it would be great if we could get more of our own patients involved
We currently have around 6 patient members, however the membership is open to all patients of the Practice and we would welcome new members to join our group.
The group normally meets 3 times per year on a Wednesday from 6.45pm to 7.45pm for 1 hour so if you would like to be a member of the group please apply to join by sending an email to whitehouse.surgery@nhs.net; or by completing this online form.
